Ten Days Out!

The past month or so has been a complete blur. Late nights and endless writing have left me sleepless and longing for the trail. Thankfully, I presented my Senior Thesis, finished my report and they said it was good enough to graduate! I now just have a few minor assignments to finish before I can make the trek across the stage and get my diploma. Now to the exciting stuff.

I have officially chosen a new pair of shoes for the trip. After doing some sizing and trying on of a bunch of different shoes I've decided to start out with the Oboz Sawtooth Low Hiking Shoe. I chose this shoe because of the sturdy insole, cushy sole and breathability. I've hiked about 50 miles in them so far and am really exicted to see how far they will take me on the PCT. Oboz shoes have a good reputation for being very durable. The one downside to Oboz is their lack of wide sizing. I wear a 12E. Oboz apparently now, as of writing this, only offers two shoes in a wide width according to their website. It's frustrating to say the least.

With the help of my parents, I've also upgraded cameras from the Olympus OMD EM-5 to the OMD EM-10Mark2. With this I'll be able to wirelessly transfer photos from my camera to my phone to allow for picture updates! There's also a bunch of cool new features and things so stay tuned for more awesome pictures.

The last update is probably the most crucial, my resupply locations. I have come up with 19 resupply locations on the PCT. I will be averaging about 125-175 miles between each resupply. If you feel the urge to send me stuff, it's probably best to send me cool emails or messages on social media because I won't be able to carry letters and letters on the trail. However, if you do want to send me some food or something clever, leave a comment below and I'll give you advice on where to send your package.

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good physically. After the spring break trip I definitely had some wear and tear. I've been going to the chiropractor and stretching really well as of lately to make sure I can put my best foot forward. Stay tuned, it's about to get super exciting!
